Introduction to Film Making

The seminar titled “Introduction to Filmmaking” was conducted to provide participants with foundational knowledge about the filmmaking process. Led by resource speaker Mr. Francis Lester Solano Lacambra, the session covered key stages in film production—pre-production, production, and post-production—as well as essential techniques such as cinematography, sound design, lighting, editing, camera movement, and shot sequencing.

III. REFLECTIONS ON POSSIBILITIES ON IMPLEMENTING SOME OF THE SEMINAR INPUT ON A PRACTICAL LEVEL (PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF LEARNINGS)

  • The concepts and techniques shared can be applied in school film projects, digital content creation, and basic video production. Understanding how to plan scenes, use camera angles, and apply sound design can help produce more compelling visual content even at an amateur level.


IV. POSITIVE FEEDBACKS

  • The seminar was informative and engaging, with Mr. Lacambra explaining concepts in a beginner-friendly way. The use of visuals helped clarify technical ideas, making the session both educational and inspiring.


V. SUGGESTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO BE MADE/CONSIDER FOR FUTURE ACTIVITIES

  • Future sessions could benefit from including interactive segments such as short exercises, hands-on demonstrations, or real-time editing walkthroughs to give participants practical experience alongside theoretical knowledge. Additionally, allocating more time for Q&A and participant interaction would enhance engagement and allow deeper discussion of the topics presented.
