The webinar titled "Basics of PHP" was successfully organized by our team, Structure Squad, and conducted on December 6, 2024, through Google Meet and simultaneously broadcasted via Facebook Live. Our guest speaker, Mr. Diether Llenares, shared his expertise on the fundamental concepts of PHP. The session was attended by numerous IT students and web development enthusiasts who gained valuable insights into PHP programming.

I. DETAILS OF THE EVENT/ACTIVITY

  • The webinar titled "Basics of PHP" was successfully organized by our team, Structure Squad, and conducted on December 6, 2024, through Google Meet and simultaneously broadcasted via Facebook Live. Our guest speaker, Mr. Diether Llenares, shared his expertise on the fundamental concepts of PHP. The session was attended by numerous IT students and web development enthusiasts who gained valuable insights into PHP programming.

II. REFLECTIONS ON THE SEMINAR/ACTIVITY GIVE RISE TO (LEARNINGS)

  • The seminar introduced participants to the essential aspects of PHP, including syntax, variables, conditional statements, loops, and functions. Mr. Llenares also emphasized the importance of PHP in server-side scripting and how it integrates with HTML to create dynamic web pages. Participants left the webinar with a solid foundation in PHP and motivation to explore backend web development further.


III. REFLECTIONS ON POSSIBILITIES ON IMPLEMENTING SOME OF THE SEMINAR INPUT ON A PRACTICAL LEVEL (PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF LEARNINGS)

  • The learnings from the webinar can be immediately applied to real-world projects such as developing login systems, managing user input through forms, and connecting to databases using PHP and MySQL. These practical applications are especially helpful for students working on capstone projects or personal portfolio websites

IV. POSITIVE FEEDBACKS

  • Attendees commended the speaker’s ability to explain concepts in a clear and concise manner. The live coding demonstration helped participants understand how PHP works in real time. Many appreciated the dual-platform setup via Google Meet and Facebook Live, making the webinar accessible and convenient.

V. SUGGESTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO BE MADE/CONSIDER FOR FUTURE ACTIVITIES

  • Suggestions include incorporating a hands-on PHP coding activity, sharing presentation slides and sample codes, conducting a follow-up session on advanced PHP or MySQL topics, and providing feedback forms to enhance engagement.
